Last week I gave a talk on Urban Planning and Social Media at the NSW Department of Planning and Environment Young Professionals Network Forum.

“In 2013, Australians were one of the highest users per capita of smartphones in the world. We’re more connected than ever before and at the touch of our fingertips can change the culture of a place for the better, or worse. As Planners, our role is to facilitate and manage infrastructure, development and services, which now starts with your smartphone. But where do we begin and how can we plan in a digital sphere? I’d suggest it doesn’t have to be overwhelming or complex, it just needs to be human, about people and their place.”
