At JOC Consulting we’re passionate about embedding creativity throughout our engagement and strategic projects. We’re also big advocates for urban exploration and creative place making, looking to community, culture and art to help reshape or enhance underutlised spaces across the city.

In 2017, our Director, John O’Callaghan, was invited to join the ‘Art and About Sydney’ Assessment Panel (for the City of Sydney) and was recently asked back to assess the next round of submissions.

As one of three experts, John was required to review all submissions, provide critique against the selection criteria and shortlist projects for further conceptual development prior to being awarded grant funding.

A project that received funding in the 2017 assessment round was Frameshift, an aerial theatre show that combines vertical performance, contemporary dance and b-boy dancing (refer to image below).

While the next round of artworks are still being finalised, an announcement should be made over the coming months of successful applicants.
