There’s so much happening in Sydney at the moment. Across the city we have new developments on the urban fringe that are more inner city than suburban, new cultural policies that will shape creativity for years to come, and talent that is either attracted to Sydney for its uniqueness, or returning after gaining experience abroad.
I recently had coffee with Simon Rochowski, at Brickfields in Chippendale, to discuss these trends and how they relate to urban design, public art and community. Simon also introduced me to his new practice, studioplusthree, and their recent installation as part of the Beams Festival 2014.
