Last week I facilitated an Inspiration Workshop for Warringah Council aimed at building on the current interest in place making and inspiring a more collaborative and creative approach to Council process. The Workshop incorporated community input from the Creative Warringah project and highlighted exciting initiatives happening elsewhere in Sydney and across the globe.

In addition to this Workshop, the recent opening of Warringah’s Creative Space, award winning Dee Why Master Plan and its broad interest in creativity, is showing it’s not only talking and thinking about the issues, but also doing. As such, it seems Warringah is well and truly keeping pace with best practice, recognising the importance of Council as an enabler, promoting the arts at every turn and encouraging creative expression throughout the community.

If the Workshop was anything to go by, I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Creative Warringah.
